GXG

Meet the Team: Tommy and Bruno!

The whole GXG team looks forward to our new interns every summer. They help us see our business again with fresh eyes and renewed enthusiasm, so we were especially delighted that they agreed to start their time with us virtually.

Bruno Garcia is currently a student at Dominican College of Blauvelt in New York, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in International Management.

Tommy Kay is studying for his Bachelor's of Business Administration at Furman University in South Carolina. They are both already contributing to some of our ongoing projects and we hope to share more of their work here. In the meantime, get to know them a little better!

4.3 What is your grit score?

4.09. A good starting point, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Playing sports, learning about different cultures, meeting new people, hanging out with friends. What's a personal hobby that you're passionate about?

I am very passionate about soccer and all that comes with it. Aside from soccer, I am passionate about boating and the ocean in general.

I would love to learn Italian. What is your out of the office learning goal?

I took up the ukulele about two years ago and it has been my long term goal since.

If someone tries to put you down, do not lose time planning a possible revange. Instead, focus on improving yourself. - By my father (John Garcia). What's the greatest advice you've ever gotten?

Some of the greatest advice I’ve gotten would probably be a phrase that my mom has said throughout her life. The advice is to “Keep On Keeping On”. This can be interpreted in lots of different ways but to me it means to keep moving forward in life no matter the circumstances.

A South African company (Shisalanga Construction) is using recyclable plastic bottles to repave roads in the country. Something interesting you've read, listened to, or watched recently?

A Journey Around the World: a G650 pilot’s perspective” is a really interesting book that I’ve read in the last couple of weeks. I’ve always had a slight interest in aviation, but the book gives a unique perspective of a pilot flying executives around the world in a large business jet.

Soccer player When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? I believe I’ve had a wide range of career paths that wanted to pursue ever since I was little. A professional soccer player is definitely one. A Top Gun fighter jet pilot was a dream of mine at some point I’m sure.
Dog Are you a cat or dog person?

I really do love all animals, but I would probably say I am a dog person overall.
